What???

     Are you confused by all of the various headlines and news stories you see, hear and read each day, concerning the local real estate market?   Is it a "strong" market?  Is it "losing steam"?  What´s really going on, and what does it mean for you, the individual homeowner and/or home seeker?  We Realtors are often taken aback by the inevitable question we get at any party or gathering ? "What is the market like right now?"

     Unfortunately, it´s not as simple as an eye-catching headline or a 30-second news clip might lead you to believe.  Is the story talking about home sales or home "starts"?  Are the statistics referring to number of homes sold, or median price, or months of inventory available?  Besides all of those variables, there is the fact that there is not one uniform "market" ? what is happening in Tarrytown, for instance, is likely to be quite different than what is happening in Pflugerville, which is still different than what is happening in Southwest Austin ? or Northwest Austin ? and so on.
